TOUCHABLE MEMORIES

WORK IN PAIRS:

1- Discuss the following questions with your partner:
   a- How could a blind person 'see' a photo?
   b- How could a photo bring back memories to a blind person.

2- Look at the photo below:
   The five people in the photo are blind. Imagine what their lives are like and what they do for a living.

3- Watch the following video about those five people until 02:16 and make notes about each person

4- Answer the following questions about each person:
   a- What memories does he/she talk about?
   b- What Image does he/she refer to?

5- Daniella says the following sentence:
   "If I could touch the picture, I could make it tangible again".
   What do you think she means by that?

6- Watch the rest of the film.and answer the following questions:
   a-How do the blind people “see” the image for the first time?
 b- How do the people react when they “see” the photo for the      first time?
 c- Why is the film called Touchable Memories?

7- How does the film make you feel?


8- Think of different uses of 3D printers which could improve the quality of blind people's lives.


9- Look at those two videos which show uses of 3D printers in South Korea and Japan to improve the lives of young blind people. 

 a- Had you thought of any of those uses?
 b- how do the videos make you feel?




10- Imagine you are one of the blind people in the short film. Write about your emotions and memories when you 'see' your photo for the first time.
